Pistol and rifle matches are open to members of the public and provide an excellent opportunity to see the club and its members in action.
DPRC currently has a membership cap of 1300 members. In March of each year, the number of DPRC members will be reviewed. As some members will not renew, once the number of openings is determined that number of individuals will be contacted and invited to attend a club orientation session.
All new members must be at least 18 years old.
All new members must be able to pass a NICS background check by providing a NC Concealed Carry Handgun (CCH) Permit or a NC Sherriff's Department Pistol Permit from your county of residence on the day of their DPRC orientation.
Due to affiliation and insurance requirements, all new club members are required to be members of the National Rifle Association when they join and are required to keep their NRA membership active while a member of Durham Pistol & Rifle Club.
All club members have a gate card granting them access to our facilities.
Shooting hours are 08:00 AM to dusk Monday through Saturday and 10:00 am to dusk on Sunday.
Indoor activities may be scheduled in the clubhouse in the evenings. Ranges are occasionally closed for scheduled club events such as work days or matches.
Members are responsible for checking the club calendar to ensure the range they desire to use is not closed for a match or maintenance.
Standard membership: $200 per year.
Senior member: $100 per year. For members who are 65 or older and have been a standard member for five or more continuous years.
Family member: $100 per year. For the spouse of a current regular or senior member. To qualify, spouses must meet all the requirements (NRA member, orientation, election, etc.) of a regular member.
Upon joining the club, new members must pay an initiation fee of $250. New members will also pay a portion of their annual fee. This amount will be prorated on a quarterly basis based upon the date the new member joins (if you join July 1st, you only pay 50% of the annual dues for that year).
Annual dues may be reduced for activity that supports the club. No dues are charged to club officers or match directors.
Once a club member, there are no additional charges to shoot.
There are no charges to bring guests.
Targets and frames are available at the ranges for member use.
The wait list for membership is first come first served, and all new applicants are looking at a potential wait of 2-3 years.

Email is the method that will be used to contact you for invitation to a club orientation class when your name comes up for an invitation.

Join the National Rifle Association, if not already a member. The DPRC gets a fee from the NRA when someone joins or renews so be sure to include the club’s NRA number (C0571) on the membership application. Due to affiliation and insurance requirements, all club members are required to be members of the National Rifle Association.
Confirm your intent to join DPRC by registering for a club orientation class on one of the dates in the invitation sent by email.
Attend the club orientation where you will tour the facilities, learn about the club rules, demonstrate your ability to safely and responsibly handle your firearm and complete the new member application form.
