Range Facilities

DPRC has 10 shooting ranges to facilitate every shooting discipline, with a few specialized for specific disciplines such as archery, benchrest, bullseye pistol, and one dedicated to .22LR shooting sports. In addition to the shooting ranges we also have a large clubhouse.



Range Rules

These rules apply to all ranges:


Range #0

The John Book range is the club’s dedicated Rimfire range. Only .22 caliber short, long, and long rifle cartridges may be fired on this range (ALL other cartridges are forbidden).  This range has a fixed firing line with targets at minimum of 50 yards.

Range Rules:

1. Rimfire ammunition up to and including .22 caliber short, long, and long rifle cartridges is permitted.


2. Minimum distance for targets is 50 yards. Ensure that all bullets will impact the rear berm.


3. All shooting should be done from the covered firing line, in line with, but not necessarily from, the benches.


4. While anyone is downrange, a safety flag should be posted in front of the firing line.



RANGE #1

General purpose pistol and rifle range featuring 20 concrete benchrests with wooden stools. This range has a fixed firing line with target stands at 50 and 100 yards.

Range Rules:
1. Rimfire, pistol calibers, and rifle calibers are permitted.

2. ONLY the fixed target positions at 50 yards and 100 yards may be used.

3. Paper targets should be placed in target frames at 50 yards and 100 yards ONLY.

4. Non-paper targets are allowed ONLY on the rear berm (at 100yards).
a. DO NOT TAPE OR TIE TARGETS TO TARGET FRAMES.

b. DO NOT SHOOT AT TARGET FRAMES.

5. All shooting should be done from the covered firing line, in line with, but not necessarily from, the benches.

6. While anyone is downrange, a safety flag should be posted in front of the firing line.



Range 1


RANGE #2

Bullseye pistol shooting competition range with a fixed firing line, rotating target frames at 25 yards and fixed target frames at 50 yards. This range only supports firing from a standing position.

Range Rules:

1. Rimfire and pistol calibers are permitted.

2. The ONLY permitted targets are paper targets in the provided 25-yard and 50-yard frames. No other targets or placements are permitted. Ensure that you do not shoot the wooden frames or the wooden walls.


3. All shooting should be done from the covered firing line benches.





RANGE #3

Large general use rimfire, pistol, rifle and shotgun range with a depth of approximately 80 yards.  This range does not have a fixed firing line only a minimum firing line. There are no fixed target frames on this range. 

Range Rules:

1. Rimfire, pistol calibers, shotguns, and rifle calibers are permitted.

2. This is the ONLY range where airborne clay shooting is permitted.

a. Use lead shot size 7½, 8, or 9 ONLY.

b. All shots at clays must go into or over the REAR BERM ONLY. There are club members on ranges behind both side berms!




RANGE #4

General use rimfire, pistol, rifle and shotgun range with a depth of approximately 20 yards. This range does not have a fixed firing line only a minimum firing line. There are no fixed target frames on this range.

Range Rules:
1. Rimfire, pistol calibers, shotguns, and rifle calibers are permitted.





RANGE #5

General use rimfire, pistol, rifle and shotgun range approximately 65 yards deep. This pit differs from the other general-purpose pits because it has side impact berms towards its rear impact berm. The side impact berms are the portions of the berm that border the mulch ground cover. The portions of the berm that border the crushed stone are not side impact berms. This range does not have a fixed firing line only a minimum firing line. There are no fixed target frames on this range.

Range Rules:
1. Rimfire, pistol calibers, shotguns, and rifle calibers are permitted.




RANGE #6

General use rimfire, pistol and shotgun range approximately 25 yards deep. This pit has a covered roof firing line, wooden benches, tables and a target shed.  This range does not have a fixed firing line only a minimum firing line. There are no fixed target frames on this range.  Only the back berm is an impact berm.

Range Rules:
1. Rimfire, pistol calibers, and shotguns are permitted.




RANGE #7

Dedicated rifle range with target stands at 100, 200 and 300 yards engaged from a fixed firing line. The range has 22 covered firing points with the first 6 prioritized for shooting at 300 yards. The entire firing line is a concrete slab with movable wood and steel benchrests.  This range also has a separate walled off sight in bay on the right end of the firing line where members and their guests can sight in their firearms before attempting finer adjustments at longer distances.

Range Rules:
Right Side Sight In Area

1. Rimfire, pistol calibers, and rifle calibers are permitted.

2. This area may be made safe and shooters move forward of firing line while Range 7 100-to 300-yard portion remains hot.


3. This area MUST BE MADE SAFE when Range 7 100-to 300-yard portion is made safe

Long-Range Rifle Area

1. Rimfire, pistol calibers, and rifle calibers are permitted.

2. All shooting should be done from the covered firing line, in line with, but not necessarily from, the benches.

3. Firing at 300 yardsis to be done from the first 6 shooting positions only. This takes priority on these positions. Please be considerate.

4. All firearms MUST be zeroed for 100 yardbefore using this range.

5.Minimum target distance = 100 yards (excludes sight-in area on right side of firing line).

6. Rifle calibers through .300 Win Mag are permitted on steel on Range 7 ONLY, and ONLY at 100+ yards.

7. Paper targets should be stapled to target frames with proper-sized cardboard backer.

8. Non-paper targets are ONLY allowed on the lower portion of the impact berms. DO NOT put targets on top of the berms.

9. While anyone is downrange, a safety flag should be posted in front of the firing line.





RANGE #8

General use rimfire, pistol and shotgun range approximately 15 yards deep.  Has a covered firing line, wooden benches, tables, and a target shed.  This range does not have a fixed firing line only a minimum firing line. Only the back berm is an impact berm.

Range Rules:
1. Rimfire, pistol calibers, and shotguns are permitted.

General use rimfire, pistol, rifle and shotgun range approximately 100 yards deep. This range does not have a fixed firing line. There are no fixed target frames on this range.  Only the back berm is an impact berm.


Range Rules:
1. Rimfire, pistol calibers, shotguns, and rifle calibers are permitted.




Archery

The new range features several archery lanes with targets, a picnic table, and a fire pit.
