It was warm but not a bad day for shooting overall. We had several new challenge match shooters and a wide range of scores.


Rob O took top honors in Tactical, and Jeff D won in Varmint. Congrats to both! Rob and Joel P were the only two to clear all the 3" plates from 80 to 150 yard with 1 shot each.


The matchsticks were back this time, and the best was 3 hits out of 6 shots (the match head had to be completely severed to count).Thanks to everyone who pitched in to help for set up and tear down! I couldn't do the challenge matches without lots of help.


Course of Fire

Varmint division shoots all stages from the bench. [Tactical division positions in brackets].

1. Standard cold bore paper target @135 (0-10 bullseye points) 1 round/20 seconds [ Support on top of upright stool]
2. Sighters @150  n/60 [bench]
3. Playing card @70, each shot not touching edge or another shot is a hit. Up to 15 shots, can stop early. 15/120 (1 each hit) 6/60 [bench, no bags]

4. 2 shots each into 3 cards @70,100,135 ( 2 each hit, fully inside card) 6/60 [support on 3rd barrier step]
5. 4 Egg KDs on rack @60, 1 Silhouette KD@125. (1 each egg, 4 for silhouette) 6/60 [support on stool, stool on side, seat toward shooter, legs toward target]
6. 1" circle KD on rack@60, must knock off to score... up to 3 hits on card@100 (3 each) 4/60 [middle barrier hole]
7. 5 matchsticks, head must be severed to score @45 (2 each) 5/60 [bench, no stool ]

8. * KYDL 3" plates @80,90,…,150 – (shoot til miss, 2 each) 8/10 sec each shot [10 jumping jacks in 10 sec, then bench]
9. * 5 poppers (4 w/noshoots, 1 dino) @85,70,120,95,75 right to left  – (2 ea, -3 for no-shoots) 6/60 [Sit on ground, support on rope]
10. Hostage shot, on fire! @65 (10 for target, -5 for hostage)1/1 [Prone, bipod only]
